7th Annual International
Walk for Celiac Disease

On Sunday, August 10, 2008, the Gluten Free Gang held a successful "Making Tracks for Celiacs" at Antrim Park on Olentangy River Road!  The weather was wonderful and there were plenty of gluten-free snacks and bottles of water for all!

Here are the highlights:

bullet Honorary Chair, Dr. Sheryl Pfeil, started the walk at 12:45pm and about 125 walkers joined her in the walk around Antrim Lake.
bulletChildren under 10 took part in activities in a separate play area and were awarded prizes for their activities. 
bulletA silent auction and a 50/50 raffle were held.
bulletThe Gluten-Free Gang raised about $8000 and had a profit of about $6200 after expenses. Approximately $4,650, or 75% of the profits were donated to the Center for Celiac Research at the University of Maryland. The remaining 25% was used for community education of the Gluten-Free Gang.
